The McQueen Estate is teaming up with Verified Labs, artist Michael Kalish, Triumph Motorcycles, and IEL. Together, they’re releasing 1,000 NFTs that honor Steve McQueen’s passion for motorcycles.

This collection, set to launch on ThetaDrop on July 14, is inspired by a 2022 portrait of McQueen by Kalish. Moreover, McQueen’s grandson, Chase, has also contributed to the project, adding a unique, personal touch.

Purchasers of the ‘King of Cool Racing Team’ Steve McQueen NFTs will receive a digital motorcycle shipping crate. Upon opening, they will discover a unique, virtual Triumph Bonneville T100 Motorcycle.

This reveal will grant them membership into the King of Cool Racing Team and unlock access to future token-gated content, events, and games. Each digital asset also includes a 3D Steve McQueen portrait, viewable in high detail through a virtual reality headset or Sony’s Spatial Reality Display.

All About Legacy

McQueen, renowned for his roles in “The Cincinnati Kid,” “The Magnificent Seven,” and “The Towering Inferno,” was more than just an actor; he was also a passionate motorcycle enthusiast. In fact, he collected numerous Triumph motorcycles and Hot Rods, and even participated in several races.

On the other hand, Justin Trevor Winters, co-founder, and CEO of Verified Labs, emphasized the importance of preserving McQueen’s legacy. He stated, “The truth is, it’s all about legacy.” Furthermore, he added, “We wanted to make sure we did our part to help McQueen live on for future generations.”

The Steve McQueen NFT collection is a testament to McQueen’s influence on Americana, a theme that has inspired Kalish’s work. “There is so much overlap in our love of cars, motorcycles, family, American Iconic objects and moments,” Kalish said.
