Monad is revolutionizing blockchain with rapid growth in NFTs, DeFi projects, and its public testnet launch, offering speed, scalability, and EVM compatibility.
Monad Public Testnet Launch
The Layer 1 is taking a major step forward with the launch of its public testnet on February 19!
This marks a significant milestone following the completion of its closed testnet phase at the end of 2024. The public testnet gives developers and users an opportunity to experience Monad’s features ahead of its official mainnet launch, planned for late 2025.
A gas limit of 300M gas/s, which is anticipated to achieve a throughput of 10,000 transactions per second (TPS) among the core capabilities introduced by the testnet. Developers can test the blockchain’s performance in real-world scenarios, as well as the deployment of decentralized apps (dApps) and the transaction process. Moreover, the network’s stability and preparedness for widespread use are guaranteed by these tests.
About Monad
A Layer-1 blockchain called Monad allows for speedy, reasonably priced transactions while preserving decentralization. Complementing Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), it provides compatibility for developer libraries, end-user wallets, and smart contracts. A dedicated database layer and parallel processing are two concurrency advancements incorporated into Monad’s design to efficiently handle high traffic.

Monad’s complete compliance with EVM bytecode is one of its key benefits. This feature allows Ethereum developers to swiftly transfer or build apps on Monad without also requiring major source code changes. It enables decentralized applications such as blockchain games, NFTs, and DeFi projects to utilize Monad’s features without facing any technical challenges.
This project has received substantial funding to help with its development. In a Series A funding round headed by Paradigm and supported by Coinbase Ventures, OKX Ventures, GSR Ventures, and DragonFly Capital, the project raised $225 million. This investment shows how much trust there is in Monad’s plan for an EVM-compatible, high-throughput blockchain.
Growing Monad NFT Ecosystem
Its ecosystem is experiencing significant growth, driven by several NFT projects offering potential whitelist spots and airdrops. Lil Chogstars, a PFP series inspired by ‘Chog,’ is generating excitement within the community by spreading wonderful pieces of art.
Monadverse, featuring the highly anticipated Monanimals series and supported by Monad’s co-founder, is gaining attention as a standout NFT initiative.
Other notable projects include Monadians, a futuristic PFP project led by Monad community members, and Spiky Nads, a pixel-art-style NFT collection with whitelist opportunities tied to active engagement.
