My Neighbor Alice: First Fully On-Chain Game Released on Chromia Mainnet

2 Mins read

After the launch of Chromia’s mainnet in July, My Neighbor Alice has taken another step forward, with the game set to become the first fully decentralized, on-chain game. Its new Beta Season, which starts September 24, will be the first to run entirely on the Chromia mainnet and offers players an experience that is both more scalable and reliable.

Progress Towards Decentralization

The launch on the mainnet follows the successful Alpha Seasons of My Neighbor Alice, which focused on decentralizing the underlying technology. These early stages in the game’s development were crucial in the stress-testing of Chromia’s blockchain so that it would cope with high volumes of transactions and maintain a smooth user experience within the game. Now, transitioning into mainnet, the game is set to avail of all the benefits of blockchain technology.

“We are thrilled to see My Neighbor Alice launch on mainnet and push the boundaries of Web3 gaming. They have been building both the game and community for a long time, and we are excited to see how the game will evolve on mainnet,” says Chromia co-founder Henrik Hjelte.

The input of My Neighbor Alice’s core community has shaped the journey to mainnet. Early players’ feedback has helped refine the game itself and the underlying blockchain infrastructure, making it more secure, scalable, and user-friendly.

Chromia Mainnet’s Key Features

Operating the game on Chromia’s blockchain brings a host of advantages to My Neighbor Alice. For the first time, all game data is hosted fully on-chain, with no centralized servers. Besides decentralization, Chromia offers a set of features like gasless transactions, advanced querying, and a chain for each Dapp, which means faster transaction scalability.

This move to Chromia mainnet is another positive one for My Neighbor Alice and its commitment to setting a new standard in Web3 gaming. The team is still working on the game and the technology that powers it, enabling features for future innovations in decentralized gaming.

“We built, delivered, and are moving forward, continuing to improve both the game and the technology behind it,” says Riccardo Sibani, Chief Product Officer at My Neighbor Alice.
